Last updated: September 2026. This page explains how YourTripPilot works and what to expect when you use it.
Information you choose to provide
We collect information you submit while using YourTripPilot, including trip preferences, departure city, destination, dates, budget range, group details, children’s age ranges when relevant, special requests, and an email address when you request a plan or support response. Please do not enter sensitive personal information that is not needed for trip planning.
How we use trip information
Trip details are used to generate and display a personalized itinerary, improve the planning experience, respond to support requests, and measure aggregate product performance. The planner does not require an account for ordinary traveler access. We do not sell trip details or use children’s age information for advertising profiles.
Analytics and affiliate events
We use Google Analytics 4 and similar measurement tools to understand page visits, planner starts, itinerary outcomes, affiliate clicks, and conversion flows. Events are designed to avoid sending names, email addresses, document contents, or other sensitive data. Affiliate links may include click attribution parameters; the linked provider’s privacy policy controls once you leave YourTripPilot.
Featured Partner and advertiser information
If you apply for a Featured Partner placement, we collect business name, category, address, city, state or province, country, website, contact email, description, optional image URL, screening information, payment references, and listing performance metrics. Stripe processes payment details; YourTripPilot does not store complete card numbers. We use advertiser information to screen submissions, activate or expire eligible placements, send transactional listing emails, prevent abuse, and provide support.
TripShield member information
TripShield members may store trips, notes, records, emergency QR profile fields, and uploaded documents. Documents are kept in private object storage and are accessible only after successful member authentication and ownership checks. A public QR profile shows only the fields a member explicitly publishes. TripShield is an organization tool, not insurance or an emergency response service.
TripPilot+ monitoring information
If you purchase TripPilot+, we collect the traveler name, email address, trip dates, route or flight details, and monitoring results needed to provide one-trip alerts and a private status link. Monitoring data may include provider responses, forecast summaries, alert history, and delivery records. We use it to run the purchased monitor, send transactional alerts, provide support, prevent abuse, and reconcile payment; it is not used to create advertising profiles.
Service providers, retention, and security
We use infrastructure providers for hosting, email delivery, payment processing, analytics, AI generation, and private file storage. Providers receive only the information needed for their function. We retain data while needed to deliver the requested service, meet legal or accounting obligations, prevent fraud, or resolve disputes, then delete or de-identify it when reasonably practical. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.
Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, or clarification about personal information we hold, subject to legal and operational limits. You can stop optional marketing emails using the unsubscribe method in the message. Members can delete eligible TripShield content from the dashboard. Children’s privacy
YourTripPilot is intended for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect accounts or direct marketing information from children under 13. Adult users may enter broad children’s age ranges to tailor an itinerary; those details are used for that planning purpose.
